How the pokémon ev yield list works

This Pokémon EV yield list reads the stored yield attached to every canonical species in the local dataset. Choose a species and one of the six stats to build a training plan to 252, then filter the directory to find alternative opponents for that stat. The calculator keeps yield, Power item bonus, Pokérus, and starting EVs visible because those mechanics change the KO count dramatically across generations and games.

A defeated species can award one or more effort values, sometimes split across two stats. The table therefore keeps the complete recorded yield string rather than forcing every record into one category. The stat filter includes a row when that selected stat has a positive award. Encounter availability, held items, Exp. Share behavior, and whether a party member receives the award depend on the title and are not inferred from this cross-generation species directory.

The training plan adds the chosen Power item bonus to the opponent’s base yield, then doubles that combined amount when Pokérus is active in a game that supports it. The result rounds upward because a fraction of a knockout cannot be completed. Modern Power items commonly add eight EVs in their associated stat, while older games use different values; the editable bonus allows either rule instead of silently fixing one generation.

A single stat is capped at 252 EVs in modern play, while the individual-wide total is 510. Only complete groups of four EVs contribute to the modern stat formula, so 252 is useful but the last two total points in a 252/252/4 spread do not produce another stat point. Vitamins, feathers, jobs, hordes, SOS chains, and other training methods can replace battles; subtract their awards from the current-to-target gap before using the KO count.

Worked example

Pikachu’s stored yield is 2 Speed EVs. Starting at 0 with no item or Pokérus requires ceil(252 ÷ 2) = 126 KOs. With a modern +8 Power item and Pokérus, each eligible KO awards (2 + 8) × 2 = 20 Speed EVs, so ceil(252 ÷ 20) = 13 KOs. That plan overshoots by 8 unless the final award is adjusted.

How to read the result

The result is a minimum whole-KO count for the entered arithmetic, not a guarantee that every party member receives the same award. Infinity or an unavailable message means the selected species gives zero of the chosen stat and no item supplies it. Track the complete 510-EV budget separately and lower the final battle award when an exact spread matters.

Common questions

How many Pokémon must I KO for 252 EVs?
Divide the remaining EVs by the per-KO award and round up. The live planner includes the species yield, item bonus, and Pokérus.
Do Power items add to the species EV yield?
Yes under the modeled rules. Enter the bonus for the generation being played; modern main-series Power items commonly add 8.
Can one species give EVs in two stats?
Yes. The directory preserves split yields and the filter includes that species under either awarded stat.
Why can a plan exceed 252?
The final whole KO can award more than the remaining gap. Switch item, opponent, or method for the last points if exact tracking matters.
