Conditions for using IV Calc’s independent game-mechanics estimates and local data snapshot.
IV Calc provides free educational calculations based on documented game mechanics and a dated species-data snapshot. Results can be wrong because of input mistakes, unsupported forms, generation differences, undocumented edge rules, transcription errors, or later game updates. Verify an important training, evolution, or resource decision against the current game and the cited references.
What a result is
Every output here is arithmetic applied to values you supplied, with the formula shown on the page. An IV range is the complete set of values mathematically compatible with the stats you entered, not a probability or a guess. A damage figure is a model of the published formula under the modifiers listed on that page, not a battle simulation. A CP or appraisal result follows the documented Pokémon GO model for the inputs given. Where a page simplifies a mechanic it says so, and the visible formula is always the authority for what is included.
Using and sharing the site
You may use and share ordinary calculator links for personal or internal planning. Do not use the service to overload hosting, bypass technical limits, misrepresent an estimate as an official result, or imply affiliation with a publisher. Franchise and species names in explanatory content identify the subject of factual discussion. All publisher marks remain with their owners.
Sharing a calculator URL is expected and encouraged: the query string exists so a result can be checked by someone else. Republishing the site wholesale as a competing copy, scraping it at a rate that degrades it for other visitors, or presenting its output as a publisher’s own data is not permitted. The species dataset is a reviewed snapshot compiled here with its sources attributed; the underlying game facts belong to their publishers.
No warranty and liability
The service is provided as available without a warranty of uninterrupted operation, completeness, or fitness for a particular plan. To the extent allowed by law, IV Calc is not liable for lost game resources, competitive outcomes, account actions, or other decisions based on an estimate. External links and their content remain under the respective publishers’ control.
In practice that means an irreversible decision — spending rare candy, evolving a creature, resetting effort values, or committing to a build before a tournament — deserves a second check against the game itself and against the sources named on the page. Snapshot dates are published for exactly that reason. If a page and the current game disagree, the game is right, and a report through the contact page is the fastest way to get the page corrected.
